A simple tool to identify the biomass precursors which the microorganism is unable to synthesize upon deletion of essential, synthetic lethal (and higher order thereof) genes (reactions). This generic algorithm can be used to identify the constituent precursors to any sink metabolite the microorganism is unable to synthesize such as, biomass, lipid, cholesterol and so on.
